【外文摘要】Xingning, as a sub-central city of Meizhou, plays a decisive role in the Meizhou zone in the aspect of economy, culture and language. The common expressions used in Xingning have a long time of spreading and a frequent usage, with rather great linguistic, historical, and folklore value. This research collects 515 Xingning common expressions as the study object, intends to use the study methods such as quantitative statistics and comparative analysis, with the purpose of revealing the differences and similarities between Xingning and Meixian common expressions, and the Hakka culture reflected by the Xingning common expressions. In addition, it analyzes the characteristics of Xingning common expressions from the angles of sound, vocabulary, figure of speech and so on-the vowels are loud and clear, and the rhythm is harmonious; the vocabulary has a close relationship with the daily farming life and originates in the feature words (they refer to the unique vocabulary used in a dialectal area), together with the mass existence of the curse words (or the dirty words), the abundant affixes, and the vivid duplication;the artful application of the figure speech strengthens the expression effect of the common expressions.
